Our group/s next Saint Patrick's Day outing will take place on Saturday, March 17, when we'll make a day trip on Amtrak from Washington, DC, to Fredericksburg, VA, to have lunch in the railroad station and shop in the nearby stores. The next membership meeting will take place at 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 1 at the Bauer Drive Community Center, 14625 Bauer Drive, Rockville, Maryland. Noted rail photographer Bob Bitzer will present a slide program covering a trip in 1982 to Minnesota and Wisconsin to photograph the Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range Railway, rail operations of the Erie Mining Company and Reserve Mining Company, the Green Bay & Western Railroad, and other rail lines in the region.
